The League Management Company (LMC) has charged and fined Nasarawa
United, Giwa FC, Abia Warriors and Heartland FC a minimum of half a
million Naira for failing to provide adequate security and for
unacceptable supporters behavior.
In a statement released by the LMC on Tuesday, it was revealed that the actions were taken for matches played on matchday 32.
Also match officials involved in three of the ten games received queries.

club, Iyke Jacob was handed a six match ban for acts of intimidation
and harassment of Referees while Enyimba’s coach, Khadiri Ikhana was
charged for making damaging comments of the league and was fined N100,
000.
Nasarawa United, Giwa FC, Abia Warriors and Heartland FC were fined
minimum of half a million Naira due to reported crowd incidences during
the matches involving the four sides.
LMC Chief Operating Officer, Salihu
Abubakar has issued the statutory 48 hours notice to submit to the clubs
to respond to the decisions of the LMC or indicate in written response a
choice to appear before a panel.
Ikhana’s during a post match interview was deemed damaging to the portrayal of the league.
Giwa FC hosted Kano Pillars and were
was cited for breach of Article C1 and B15.16 and consequently fined
N500, 000 and N250, 000.
For the unruly behavior of their fans
Giwa FC was fined N500, 000 while another fine of N250, 000 was imposed
on the club for failure to ensure adequate security at match venue.
Nasarawa United were fined N500, 000
for failing to control their fans in a match against Lobi Stars. If such
disturbances occurred again the LMC would place a stadium ban to
supporters and relocate matches to a neutral venue.
Heartland were also fined N500, 000 for unruly behavior of fans and failure to provide hitch free match day experience.
Referee I. Indabawa from Kano and his
two Assistants from Kwara State, M. Surakat and S. O Toyin will be
investigated by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Referees
Appointment Committee for below par performance in the Abia
Warriors vs Rangers fixture.
Assistant Referee A. Bulus from Abuja
would be investigated for deficiencies in the handling of the Heartland
FC vs Enyimba match while the Center Referee, B. Odey from Abuja given a
warning. James Amadin from Edo State as also cautioned.
Meanwhile, FC Taraba of Jalingo are set to be charged by the LMC for failing to pay players’ salaries.
Activities of the team have been marred by lack of sponsorship by the
state government and if this continues, the LMC will have no choice
other than to sanction the team.
